Fun Daddy

Bryce is such a good dad, and he is so fun with the kids. Sometimes he makes me a little nervous when he is rough housing with them but they have yet to get hurt! Lately he has been doing this thing with Ellie and he calls it "Surfing", he lays back in the recliner and she stands on his chest and he jumps around until she falls down and they both are just laughing so hard! In this picture she has put on a pair of my non-matching socks, so cute!

Happy 1/2 Birthday Hudson!!

My baby Hudson is 6months old today! And while it really is exciting it makes me so sad! I love newborns, everything about them, how small they are, the way they smell, the bond you have with them, the way they sleep through almost anything, etc. and so on. Not that I don't enjoy how they grow and start to interact and play and smile, because I enjoy that too. Newborns are just my favorite, thus the reason I have 2 children only 18 months apart. I am not sure why but at this momentous occasion I find myself so emotional. I don't know if that is because I know it will be a while before I have a newborn again, or if it is because I have just recently stopped nursing and lost that oh so special bond between mother and child, or if I'm just crazy! Probably the latter! Anywho here are some things that I just love about Hudson. Happy 1/2 birthday!

1.He always smiles. No matter what, he can be hungry tired and screaming his little guts out and I just go and start talking to him and through the tears comes a smile. Thanks Hudson that makes my day everyday.

2.He loves his big sister. Although there were a few months there where he would get scared and cry every time she came near now they are friends and just laugh at each other. So fun.

3.Laughter. You've just started this and I love every second of it.

4.Sleep. Nobody could ask for a better sleeper from the moment you were born you've been good at it. Must have know your mother needed all the help she could get.

5.Patience. You have it and thank goodness because mom forgets hers in bed sometimes.

Thank you Hudson for entering my life 6 months ago, life without you would never be the same. You are my happy boy sent to brighten up my times of struggles!

5 Things about Ellie!

1. Ellie is so smart. Well at least I am impressed. She gets anything and everything she wants and not because mom says it is okay. Grandma Joan likes to say "If there is a will, there is a way." that is surely Ellie's motto. She knows some of her letters, and when we turn the way to go visit Bryce at work she says "daddy work". So smart.

2.She love to sing and dance. Whenever there is music playing she jumps around and turns in circles and sings loud whatever she thinks sounds good. She has some really good moves I'm sure all from her mother.

3. Books. Need I say more. Her favorite toy by far, whatever we do there is always a book involved. In the car before we leave she wants a book, before bed, she reads to Hudson, etc. Books everywhere!

4.Silly. She thinks she is hilarious. She is at the stage where she talks non stop and I only understand about 10% of what is being said and she laugh at everything. Tonight she was lying on the couch telling what she needed she said "milk", I gave her milk, she said "blankie", I gave her the blanket, then she said "milk" again and I said, "you have your milk what else do you want?" She said clear as day for the 1st time "apple juice". How could I not just jump at such a clear demand we were all laughing so hard!

5.Love Cleaning. She must get this from Grandma Joan because from earlier post you might have learned I am not so good at it. Anyway just tonight Grandma was dusting and Ellie ran, I mean ran, in to get her duster off her cleaning trolley, she got for Christmas from G-ma Joan and G-pa Jay. She was so darn excited she dusted until bed time. It was so cute and Grandma told her "maybe someday you can teach mommy how to clean!" Ha ha, thanks mom, love you too!

Oh my Ellie Jo! What would I do with out you? My life would be filled with little excitement. You make me smile, cry, laugh, fall apart. But don't change one bit you are my special little girl sent here to fill my life with joy!

My Life Tag.

What I was doing 10 years ago...
I was just about to turn 16 and really was loving life! I think I had just found out I made it on the cheerleading squad for my Junior year and was excited about that. I liked a boy named Trapper Braegger, yes his real name, we didn't date long. As soon as I turned 16 I decide I wanted to date other people, rude I know! The very last Seinfeld episode was aired on my birthday so we had a big party and BBQ'd and watched Seinfeld, I'll always remember that party, there are so many memories of the people there and the good times. I want to take a second to talk about my friend Steven Lasley, he was there and he passed away about 3 years ago now in a car accident . He was a great friend and it is memories like these that really make me miss him and his fun personality. Love you Steven. Sorry, I don't remember much else but I do realize now I was immature and rude to some people so if that was any of you, sorry.

Anyone who hasn't done this

Oh Ellie Jo! :)

My Ellie is so silly sometimes! She has this bear that I think used to be Jaren or Jayson's (my brothers) and she carries it around by it's sweater! She just puts her arm through the sweater like it is a bag and carries it around! She makes me laugh! I know in all of my posts with pictures it looks like I never do Ellie's hair, but I do, it's just that whenever she does funny stuff it's before I've done her hair, when she is going to bed, or lately it's just that she pulls her hair out before the day has even begun. Most of the time I wonder why I even bother, but then it looks so cute for 5 minutes after it's done! I need everybodies help again, Ellie lately has been having really rough nights and I don't know what to do. She usually wakes up every night at about 2 in the morning and then after I put her down again she gets up about every 15 minutes after that for about 3 hours. And she has been getting up earlier and earlier every morning, this morning she got up at 6:15. I don't know what to do or why she won't sleep at night. If any of you have advice please please help me!

Advice

I need some advice from all of you experienced mothers. Ellie is turning two in a few weeks and for her birthday we wanted to get her a tricycle or small bicycle w/training wheels. I can't find any I love and need your help to find one! Also I am in the market for a double stroller so if any of you have one you would like to sell or have any advice on one that you love that I might love too please let me know! Thanks in advance for your help.

Ideas

There are different random moments in my life when ideas for good blogs pop up into my head. It always seems at those moments I am too busy to sit down and blog. Then I come in to sit down and blog and . . . nothing, the ideas are no where to be found! So until next time here are some funny pictures of Ellie playing in all her old toys/ Hudson's new toys! She didn't ever want to play with them until Hudson started too! Isn't that how life goes!

Ellie sitting in Hudson's swing, then in the bumbo. She has pulled her "pull-up" on over her pants. Then she is jumping in the bouncer. Whenever she starts climbing into the swing or the bouncer I always tell her she is going to get stuck then she gets in and can't get out she says, "stuck, stuck, mom, stuck." I laugh for a little while then I go and get her out! Such a silly girl.

Being Grateful!

I just wanted to take a few minutes today to say how grateful I am that I get to stay at home with my kids everyday! I don't have to miss any event in their lives. And though sometimes it may be hard, it really is the best job in the world! The other day I was in the grocery store and ran into an old co-worker of my husband's. We were just catching up and I was complaining about how Bryce is never home and always working long hours. I was being a real Debbie Downer (SNL).
Sometimes I don't really realize how pessimistic I am, oops I need to work on that! Then the girl I was talking to said to me, "well, at least you get to stay home with your kids." Nothing makes you feel worse than when you realize you aren't being grateful for best part of your life, your time with your children! This girl I was talking to has two young children and goes to work everyday and I get to stay home! I felt so bad, then I babbled on forever talking about how great it is to be with my kids at home! I am sure she hopes she never runs into me again. Ever since that day I have tried to have a better attitude and be more grateful for the opportunity I get to be with my children every passing moment! The days have gone so much smoother I am so much more patient, which is something I pray to have more of every night! Don't get me wrong I still love the moments when they are sleeping, I'm just now enjoying the other moments more! Like Ellie dancing to the music and Hudson's laughter when I play with him!

Keep Out of Reach of Children!

I know Ellie is too young to read but I swear she can read those words, keep out of reach of children! I was cleaning, which I do very seldom, and the other day was just a reminder why! I put Ellie in front of a Little People movie, her new favorite thing, so I figured I free for a good 50 minutes to get some cleaning done without too much drama. Oh how wrong I was! She really wanted to help me so she grabbed a bottle of bathroom cleaner and started spraying it the wrong way, right in her face and down her shirt. Well, the cleaner of course had bleach in it so everything it sprayed is now ruined! What a coincidence the shirt says ADORABLE! Then Hudson, my perfect little baby, decided he didn't want to take naps and was needing my attention all day. Oh and the vacuum, both of my kids were terrified! When I was vacuuming in our family room Ellie was slowly backing up the stairs not taking her eyes off the vacuum for a second then as I went into another room she came back down the stairs as I entered the family room, back up the stairs she went! It was really funny to watch her. She used to just scream the whole time it was on so this, keeping track of the vacuum is much better! Hudson on the other hand did just scream the whole time the vacuum was on and even a little after until mom picked him up and soothed him! Needless to say, who knows when I'll be cleaning again!

Fun Moments

On Easter Sunday we were bad and didn't make it to church because of all the fun family activities that day! So, here are Ellie and Huson a week later in their Easter outfits! Better late than never, I guess. And if I dod say so myself they are looking awfully cute!
This other picture is of Ellie with her new hat on! She got the "I can't believe it's not Butter" tupperware out of the cupboard, put it on her head, and cam over to me and said, "hat", in that cute little voice of hers. I was laughing so hard and she started taking it off and I made her put i back on for a picture.

She was so proud of herself she stood there and said "cheese". I just love that little girl.

And a fun picture of cute little happy Hudson! How can you not smile when this little boy is smiling!
